When I was twelve years old, I had my first summer job. I clearly remember my father telling me that I had to spend my earnings on something constructive. He offered many suggestions and I finally decided that a camera would be a good investment. I purchased my first 35mm SLR camera and was instantly hooked.
Shortly thereafter I purchased two books by Freeman Paterson, an amazing photographer, and throughout my teenage years I made an effort to perfect my own "art of seeing".
In the process of raising children, and developing my teaching career, photography often took a back seat. During the past eight years, I have rekindled my passion for this art.
The digital age has been somewhat of a renaissance for me. It has allowed me a volume of photographs that would be completely unaffordable with traditional developing. As well, my digital darkroom has allowed me to see the world as most people don't.
I view myself as a photographer, but it is by no means my only self-definition. I am a husband, father, lover of the outdoors, and high school Science teacher.
